Award winning traditionally crafted plaster

Esme Walker has been a traditional lime plasterer since her mid-20s. After initially starting out as a town planner, she opted for a more practical life and developed a love of lime through an internship with Artifex Balear, a stonemasonry and artisanal crafts school in Mallorca.

This skill later grew into a business for her in the more remote parts of North West Wales before going on to win a place on the Building Crafts Program provided by the Prince’s Foundation, and sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Plaisterers. Shortly afterwards, she has won two awards from the Georgian Group for running Georgian cornice in situ using original methods and materials.

Since completing official training with materplasterers she has continued to develop as a subcontractor to well renowned conservation consultancies.
